SHRED The Stigma was created originally as “Out of Harm’s Way Okc” in July of 2022 by Drew Cook, made possible with the mentorship and direction from the individuals at SHOTS (Stop Harm On Tulsa Streets). Soon after opening up operations, other passionate community members joined the mission. Community involvement and engagement are the name of the game!
Having spent years as an active IV drug user in the Oklahoma City area, I know first-hand the challenges individuals in this community face. Ostracizing the drug use community will seldom produce positive outcomes. Meeting people where they are at, rather than waiting until they show up where we want them to be, is the best possible approach we can take.
– Drew Cook, Founder
Within a matter of months, word had quickly spread in the community about a group of people who do outreach to the drug use community and are trying to keep people safe. The amount of people who have felt previously disenfranchised from society as a whole who now feel like they’re brought back into the fold is too many to count.
You’re really helping in so many ways. It feels good being considered a part of the community!

While we have already seen a profound impact (1,920 overdoses at the time this was written) in such a short amount of time, we seek to completely eliminate overdoses in and around the Oklahoma City metro area! Thank YOU for your continued support!
